Adam Aubin, Registered Psychologist

Adam is a registered psychologist who has been practicing in the mental health field since 2015. He graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2014. His career has taken him through a variety of clinical roles, including working with children and young people in Out of Home Care and at a specialised adolescent mental health clinic. For the past eight years, Adam has been in private practice, supporting clients across the lifespan — including children, teens, adults, couples and families. Adam completed a Master of Forensic Mental Health through UNSW in 2022 to further compliment his clinical work. In 2025, Adam and his wife proudly established Mind & Motion, driven by a shared vision to offer high-quality, person-centred support to the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie community and beyond.

Adam has a particular interest in working with complex trauma presentations (such as those common in first responding, domestic violence and veterans populations), PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders, dissociative disorders, personality disorders, ADHD and Autism. He draws on a wide range of evidence-based approaches in his work, including EMDR, CBT, Schema Therapy, DBT, ACT, the Gottman Method for couples and B-SFT. He is also a board-approved supervisor and is passionate about mentoring other psychologists in their clinical journey. His approachable, down-to-earth style helps create a safe space for clients to explore challenges and work toward meaningful change.

Outside of work, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife and children, supporting Chelsea FC and the Newcastle Knights, and staying active in nature.
